UnbarNews is an independent global news digest. Our mission is to help readers stay informed in less time by producing clear, accurate, original summaries of the day's most important stories. These guidelines explain exactly how we work so readers can trust what they read here.

Our sourcing and originality

Every UnbarNews article begins with reporting published by an established news outlet. We re-report the facts in our own words, add context and background a reader needs to understand the story, and credit the original publisher in the article and link back to their reporting. We never republish a publisher's full text, and we never present another outlet's reporting as if we had gathered it first-hand.

Where a story rests on a specific fact, figure or quote from the source's reporting, we attribute it in the text. Our added value is clarity, context and synthesis — not the concealment of where the news came from.

Accuracy and verification

Our summaries are checked against the original reporting before publication. We do not add opinion or editorialise, and we never invent quotes, figures, names or events. Where a detail is unclear or unverified in the source, we leave it out rather than guess. We prefer to be slower and correct than fast and wrong.

Use of AI

UnbarNews uses AI-assisted tools to help draft and format summaries at scale. Every story is produced within the editorial standards on this page — attributed to its source, fact-checked against that source, and free of invented detail. Editorial responsibility for everything we publish rests with UnbarNews, not with any tool we use to produce it.

Corrections policy

We aim for accuracy and we correct errors promptly and transparently. If you believe an article contains a factual error, email editor@unbarnews.com with the article link and the correction. We review every report, update the article where warranted, and note significant corrections. Requests from a publisher regarding attribution or takedown are handled at the same address.

Ownership and funding

UnbarNews is an independently owned and operated publication. It is not owned by, nor affiliated with, any of the publishers whose reporting we cite. The site is funded through advertising. Advertising has no influence over which stories we cover or how we cover them — our editorial decisions are made independently of any commercial relationship.
