Former Illinois Officer Passes Away While Incarcerated for Murder Conviction

Sean Grayson, a 32‑year‑old former police officer from Illinois, died while serving a life sentence for a 2022 homicide. Grayson had been convicted of second‑degree murder after a jury found him responsible for the fatal shooting of Sonya Massey, a 36‑year‑old Black mother who had called police to report a possible intruder near her home in the Springfield area.
