Hyderabad fatal crash links Rajya Sabha MP's son to Aston Martin collision

Madhapur police have charged Lingamaneni Sanjush, the son of Rajya Sabha member Lingamaneni Ramesh, with rash driving after a high‑speed Aston Martin collided with a pedestrian near Inorbit Mall on August 16. The vehicle, reportedly traveling at an excessive pace, struck 26‑year‑old Bharati Mukhi, a mall employee who was crossing the road at the time.

Witnesses say the car hit the victim with such force that she sustained severe injuries. Sanjush, who was behind the wheel, immediately called for medical assistance and escorted Mukhi to a nearby hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Preliminary toxicology reports indicated that the driver tested negative for both alcohol and drugs.

Following the incident, Madhapur police filed a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, charging Sanjush with causing death by negligence. Although a formal arrest has not yet been made, the driver has been booked for rash driving, a charge that carries the possibility of custodial detention pending further investigation.

The tragedy has reignited public debate over road safety and the perceived influence of political families in legal proceedings. Authorities have urged motorists to adhere to speed limits, especially in densely populated commercial zones, while families of the deceased call for swift justice.
