Indian Navy adds deep‑sea diving ship INS Nipat to fleet

The Indian Navy officially welcomed its latest deep‑sea diving platform, INS Nipat, into service on Thursday. The commissioning ceremony was held at the naval dockyard with Navy Chief Admiral Krishna Swaminathan presiding over the event.

INS Nipat is designed to bolster the navy’s underwater capabilities, providing a dedicated platform for diving operations, salvage missions and rescue tasks in challenging maritime environments.
