Telangana chief minister to open new Moosarambagh‑Amberpet bridge

Hyderabad will see a new arterial link when the state’s chief minister officiates the opening of a 400‑metre wide bridge that joins the bustling Moosarambagh neighbourhood with Amberpet. The structure, designed to ease traffic flow across the city’s central corridor, is expected to provide a direct route for commuters traveling between the two districts.

The inauguration ceremony is scheduled for later this week and will be attended by senior officials, including senior Congress leader Revanth Reddy, who will also unveil the freshly designed logos of the city's municipal bodies – the Cantonment Board, the Municipal Corporation and the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. The presence of both political and civic leaders underscores the bridge’s role in the broader push to modernise Hyderabad’s infrastructure.

Moosarambagh, known for its historic market and proximity to the railway station, has long suffered from congestion, while Amberpet, a rapidly growing residential zone, has seen increasing demand for better connectivity. City planners say the new bridge will shorten travel times, reduce pressure on existing roadways, and support upcoming development projects in the surrounding area.

Construction of the bridge began earlier this year under the state’s urban development programme. Engineers report that the 400‑metre span incorporates modern safety features and pedestrian walkways, aiming to accommodate both vehicular and foot traffic. Once opened, the bridge will become a key component of Hyderabad’s transport network, linking major thoroughfares and facilitating smoother movement for daily commuters.
